House it going?!
Hello everyone! Hope you are well and enjoying what you can of the summer weather (although having said that it’s raining as I am writing this 😕).
It’s been a while since I have written a blog post and that’s because so much has happened!
Mainly that I have left my retail job (literally went in one Monday and did my last shift that Wednesday! 😂) And that’s because…
✨I HAVE MOVED!!!✨

Mum and I moved into our new place towards the beginning of June and have since spent the last two weeks surrounded by boxes, bubble wrap and flatpack furniture instructions – honestly just call me Bob the Builder! 😂 But now we are all settled and this week we are starting to build our new normal.
So what’s the plan now that I’ve left my job? Well, I am now spending my time caring for Mum and making many more memories with her and Bertie, whilst putting 100% effort into writing my books – I can’t expect my books to go anywhere if I’m not putting the work in!
But here are some of the things Mum and I have been up to since moving:
- We have managed to go to B&Q – at least once a week!
- We managed to drive alongside Sainsburys and then struggled to get into Sainsburys… and then got lost getting out of Sainsburys! 😬😂
- We have shopped at Tesco – my loyalty is still very strong.

We had our first visitor the other week too! My friend came to stay for the weekend so we took him to the farm down the road (yes you heard me correctly we have a farm DOWN THE ROAD! We walk past it every time we take Bertie for his morning walk!) It was such a lovely day. We saw pigs, sheep, goats, alpacas, Shetland ponies, donkeys (I absolutely love a donkey! 🫏), and Highland cows! Never thought I would live down the road from two Highland cows! We also had a vegan ice cream shake whilst we were there, which was delicious, I have been thinking about it ever since and I am already thinking of my next visit to the farm so I can have another one! So yummy! 😋
Enjoy my slideshow farm pictures! 🐷🐐🐑🦙🫏🐰🥰

We then took my friend to the beach before dropping him off at the train station (which was a 10-15 minute drive – never been happier to live this close to the seaside! 🏖️🐚) I turn into a child when I get near a beach, but we had a lovely walk along the coast and finished off with an ice cream 🍦

Photo 1 – Bertie and I fancied a selfie to document the beach trip 🤳🏻
Photo 2 – My ice cream compared to Bertie’s (which Bertie didn’t eat a lot of so a certain someone had to help him out 🙋🏻♀️😬😋).
Photo 3 – It’s safe to say the beach definitely tired Bertie out 😂🥱
Photo 4 – Night night Bertie! 😴😚👋🏻💤
Someone who did love the trip to the beach the most was Bertie. We wandered about trying to find the dog friendly part of the beach (which we couldn’t find a lot of – petition to expand the area of dog friendly beaches), but when we did find it Bertie thoroughly enjoyed laying out in the sand and charging about in what we could find of the sea. Needless to say he had to have a bath when he came home (which he didn’t appreciate 🛁😑) and then spent the afternoon wrapped in his dressing gown out for the count! 💤 – Bless him! 🥹🫶🏻
That’s about all my excitement so far! I am now spending my time figuring out what day I am on and slowly getting the motivation to get back into the work grind and pick that pen up to start writing again!
I hope you enjoyed reading about my new adventures and I will speak to you again next week!
Enjoy the summer sunshine! ☀️
TTFN – Love Hannah ❤️ x
