Summer Round Up
Summer 2024:
Hello! It’s been a while since I have written on here! So, grab a drink and some of your favourite treats – it’s going to be a long blog!
I will start off with where the last post ended.
Whilst the weather was lovely, someone definitely took every opportunity to enjoy the glorious sunshine and very hot weather.
We managed a trip to Nottingham to watch a glam rock performance for my Aunt’s birthday – which was definitely something different for us, but a great time all the same!

The next big event on our social calendar was Mum’s birthday! She spent the morning with a cup of tea opening her cards and presents in bed. I must say my present wrapping skills have definitely improved over the years and this is the best one yet!
Mum isn’t a very lavish person so we decided we would go for a dinner treat out at Wetherspoons – we know how to live it large! We then came home and spent the rest of the day on the sofa watching TV and eating cake! 🎂 Happy Belated Birthday Mum! Hope you enjoyed your special day! Love you ❤️
In other exciting news, I dyed my hair back to brunette!! Don’t get me wrong I enjoyed my auburn hair, however, sometimes a girl needs to go back to her roots – literally! And I must say I am glad to be back. The brunette is here to stay!!

Of course Bertie had another trip to the beach, but this time, Bertie was able to travel there in style. In his new pet stroller! Yes I know some of you will groan and roll your eyes at the thought of pushing a dog around in a buggy for pets (believe I have had a couple of odds looks) however, it does have it’s uses. Wither Bertie being a pug, he tends to get worn out very quickly if he has been walking very far and he does struggle a bit more in the heat. So, having a pet stroller for him to chill out in and rest his weary paws makes it worth every penny. Plus, he does look adorable in it doesn’t he? 🥹

But whether he’s in his pet stroller or not, Bertie had a lovely time at the beach – he even had his own golden hour photoshoot. 📸
Mum and I also managed to sneak in a trip to see The Drifters the other week. It happened to be one of the hottest days of the year, and I decided to wear black boots – very sensible Hannah. But we had a great time regardless of the heat, especially being sat front row. The highlight of our evening was when one of The Drifters noticed our t-shirts and decided everyone needed to know about it and so had us stand under a spotlight for all to see – Mum’s worst nightmare! But it was an amazing night!
That’s about all my exciting events in July covered. I mainly spent the rest of the month either scribbling down ideas in my notebook or tapping away at my laptop writing book two! Book is coming along well, actually managed to write and print a whole chapter in 24 hours – who would have thought it! And that is my goal for August as well: to keep writing!
Well, that’s July done – next up is August!
At the beginning of August, I attended an airshow. This was the annual airshow that Dad and I would attend; so Mum and I went this year for Dad. And of course Bertie attended with us too in his little pet stroller. The weather definitely wasn’t on our side, but the day was lovely nevertheless.
The rest of my August was once again spent writing more chapters, so my view was mainly my desk and laptop screen – the work never ends. But that did mean that I get to spend more time looking at this little face which made work much better.
A little day trip out was near the end of August, which meant I got to see a sneak peak of all the autumnal items starting to make their way into the shops. I am an avid autumn fan – I love autumn!! So, of course when I saw this jumper for a little someone I knew I wasn’t leaving it behind.
This makes me very excited for all his autumnal walks this year!
We ended August on a high with a trip to the theatre to see Grease the Musical that my sister had gifted Mum and I for our birthdays! It was very good and we had the playlist on the way home and spent the evening on the sofa watching the film when we got back… in German (luckily we knew the film very well as we couldn’t work out how to change it to English and couldn’t get the subtitles up – but the songs were in English so bonus!)
So thanks for the present Sis – great choice! ❤️
Although August seemed like a very long month, it has finally come to an end.
And with August gone that can only mean… Autumn is coming! And we’re one step closer to Christmas!! (Sorry if it’s too soon for you, but I can’t help myself, already been listen to Christmas music… anyone else?)
Enjoy the last of the summer whilst we still have it!
If you need me I shall be burying my flip flops and digging out my cosy jumpers and scarves 🧣🍁🍂
TTFN – Love Hannah ❤️ x
