December Details

December 2024:

🎶 It’s the most wonderful time of the year!🎶 (Sorry it had to be done).

Before I start with my December run down, I wanted to wish you all a very Merry Christmas 🎄 (I know you’re reading this on the 31st December, but better late than never, eh?). I hope you all have a lovely day doing what you enjoy most, whether you were celebrating or not.

My December started off in the usual way… going to see The Drifters! The last time I would be seeing them in 2024 (I am sure some of you will be relieved to hear about something other than The Drifters – I however am devastated!) But as always Mum and I both had an amazing time singing our hearts out and dancing the night away for three hours solid. And don’t worry (because I know you are all thinking it) yes, we already have tickets booked to see them again next year… multiple times! 😅

As if one festive garden centre visit wasn’t enough, we took a trip to visit another garden centre nearby us. Brigg Garden Centre had been recommended to me by a friend from work, so we decided to take their advice and go and check it out. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint – I have never seen a garden centre with a train track you could travel around! Walking around the outside of the centre was beautiful, seeing all the different Christmas lights and decorations everywhere definitely made me feel very festive. I loved the animatronic reindeer (which you could hear before you saw them) and polar bears; even though they weren’t working when we visited. Overall, I think we will be making another trip there! If anyone knows of any other garden centres that are worth a visit then please let me know in the comments!

Picture One – A sleigh!! 🛷 – you have no idea how much it took me to not climb into this and pretend that I was Santa 🎅🏻

Picture Two – One of the many walkways I found that was covered in twinkling lights.

Picture Three – A train track around a dinosaur… yes you heard me right. Unfortunately I don’t think it was made for adults so I was quickly dragged away from that to save me from embarrassment.

Picture Four – A very cosy setup I found whilst we were exploring the outside area.

Picture Five – A VR SANTA RIDE?! This is such a genius idea! Anyone fancy it next year? 🤔🙏🏻

Picture Six – 🎶She’s the brightest star I’ve ever seen (Brightest star!) ⭐ 🎶 (Again, sorry had to be done. Also never actually seen the film ‘The Nativity’… I know, I promise to change that next Christmas!)

Picture Seven, Eight and Nine – More festive photos of the outside lights.

Picture Ten and Eleven – The singing reindeer and performing polar bears (who were apparently having a break before Christmas).

Picture Twelve and Thirteen – I still don’t get the horse… but it looked very Christmassy so I felt it had to be appreciated.

Picture Fourteen and Fifteen – More beautiful walkways. I apologise for the quality of these photos – you try walking whilst taking pictures, it’s very difficult!

In other exciting news, after changing the website I use to publish my books, my books are now available to order online… In more countries!… And from more websites!… Including… Blackwells!… Barnes and Noble!… AND WATERSTONES!! SOMEBODY PINCH ME PLEASE! I said to myself that I wanted to get my books out there to reach a wider audience and knowing that people can order my books through one of the well-known bookstore’s website is huge to me and I am beyond excited!!

But the excitement doesn’t stop there!! If you order any of my books through my website (here!), you will receive a signed copy of the book, along with a free bookmark and a hand-written thank you card from me! So whilst you are here, please check out my books through the shop part of my website and grab yourself a copy of my first book (if you haven’t already) or you can now pre-order my second book!

But in all seriousness, thank you for all the support I have received since publishing my first book earlier on this year. I hope you enjoyed reading it and I cannot wait to hear your thoughts on book two… and books in the future (Surprise!! 🙊)

And finally let’s talk about the day we do all the preparations for – Christmas Day! We had a lovely day in our house, my Aunt came to visit us so we celebrated the four of us (Myself, my Aunt, my Mum and of course Bertie). We had a great week laughing from start to finish (mostly laughing at me, although I was told they were laughing with me 🤔😂), playing games and just generally chatting about anything and everything!

We had a three-course Christmas dinner with a starter of prawn cocktail (could honestly eat a whole bowl of this, it is delicious 😋), a traditional Christmas roast, and we finished off with a trifle (made by yours truly! 🙋🏻‍♀️)

It was such a perfect day and I can’t wait for our next meet up! And we will need to take more pictures next time!! x

And finally as a late Christmas present from me to you, here is a camera roll of Bertie – enjoy! 😊

Bertie One and Two – Bertie dressed as an elf – should be our Christmas card picture next year.

Bertie Three – Bertie’s bath 🛁🐤.

Bertie Four – Not a very happy pug after having endured the bath.

Bertie Five, Six and Seven – We had to do our traditional elf pictures. He was such a poser in picture seven (he wanted to check that Mum was taking the photo right).

Bertie Eight and Nine – Bertie by the tree. In photo eight he was modelling his PJ top from Chelsea Peers – the best purchase ever! And photo nine shows where Bertie spends most of his time over the seasonal period.

That’s about it from me for the year. How crazy is it that another year is now over?! Where has the time gone?? And as we edge nearer towards the clock striking twelve, I hope you all spend your New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day the best way you know how and I hope you have a lovely evening and a prosperous start to the New Year. I will be spending the rest of my evening eating Tiramisu (a hot chocolate version as Mum and I don’t like coffee) and welcoming in the New Year alongside my Mum and Bertie with a bottle of non-alcoholic fizz – Cheers! 🥂

Let me know in the comments if you have any resolutions for 2025! I spent an hour or so this afternoon creating my vision board. I am manifesting that this will be my year! (Despite the fact I have been saying that for the last two years and neither of them have gone very well, but they always say third times the charm! 😬😂🤞🏻)

Happy New Year! 🥳

And I will see you again in… 2025!!

See you soon!

TTFN – Love Hannah ❤️ x
