September’s Souvenirs!

September's Souvenirs!

September 2025:

I started off the autumnal months staying inside under a blanket editing book three – yes the minute it hits September, it’s autumn in my book – I’m not taking any arguments! I’m planning on getting my blog post about how I edit my books up soon, so keep your eyes peeled for that! Surprisingly, Mum and I managed to get through the editing stage rather quickly… but that might have been because I spent every moment of the day doing my own editing and then completing a joint editing session with Mum – we were determined to get this done! And we did, because I’m so excited to say that Book Three ‘Festive Foul Play’ is now available to pre-order and will be released 11th October 2025!! I am so excited to share this new story with you all – check it out through the shop link on my website or you can click here ‘Festive Foul Play’ to get your order in now and you can also access the book trailer through YouTube there.

I always find when we get nearer the winter months and the night start creeping in earlier that the sunsets are much more beautiful, so I managed to snap a couple of pictures of one of two.

Colder weather means enjoying more warm drinks and comfort food. Mum and I will usually head up to the Tesco cafe when we go shopping to enjoy a warm drink or sometimes we’ll treat ourselves to a little soup every now and then (we know how to live life 😂) and with family coming up to visit we arranged for a Sunday meal out one evening. So if you weren’t feeling hungry before, I apologise now because you will be after this slideshow of food and snacks! 😂😋

Towards the middle of the month, I had arranged for Mum and I to go and see the Vulcan aircraft that we had donated to get Dad’s name printed on. Dad always loved the Vulcan so I think he would love knowing that his name now on there permanently. We also got Dad’s name written on an RNLI lifeboat but it’s not as easy to go and see. We spent most of the time battling the cold weather and trying to hear each other over the wind, but it was lovely being able to find his name and take photos with it. It’s even better knowing that the Vulcan is only situated 40 minutes down the road from us! You would have loved seeing the Vulcan up close and personal Dad ❤️🪽

Towards the end of September I decided to step out of my comfort zone and start something new… I mentioned at the beginning of this blog post that I was working on the post where I talk about how I edit my books. I had said to myself previously that when I started writing book four I wanted to create the blog posts in more of a visual kind of step-by-step format where you get to watch as much of the process as possibly (without me giving too much of the book away). And so came the idea to vlog the journey to upload this to YouTube.. and the first vlog was uploaded on 29th September! You will find a link to the channel at the top of the website but I will also leave a link below if you want to check it out! I will say as a disclaimer that the quality isn’t great (mainly because I’m having to film it on my phone whilst I wait for the camera to arrive), and I know I look very awkward in front of the camera at the moment (but I’m hoping that will improve as I film more vlogs and because this is something out of my comfort zone – I was really nervous filming and uploading the first one 😂), and it is also made up of a lot of time-lapses, which is to be expected when I spend the day writing or planning. But I wanted these vlogs to show people the amount of work and different elements that are compassed into self-publishing your own novels. If you do find the time to check out the channel, please like and subscribe so you can join me on this next adventure – I would really appreciate it! ❤️

Comments Conversation: What’s one thing that you want to do that’s out of your comfort zone? What are your first steps working towards that goal? As I said filming and uploading these vlogs was something out of my comfort zone, but I had previously filmed some mini vlogs for TikTok, which I think helped me when it came to filming the first one as I had had some positive reviews from those.

Until next time!

See you soon!
