December's Daydreams!
December 2025:
So here we are, we made it to the finishing line of 2025. It has been a whirlwind of a year, with many events to keep us entertained and many work days and achievements. So as we come to the end of another year, let’s go through a rundown of the month of December.
Our December started with my aunt arriving ready to spend December with us, which meant a little black pug in the form of Archie became Bertie’s playmate for the month. The beginning of December also marked our final trip to see The Drifters. Despite being a shame that we would have to wait a while for our next one, it was an amazing night – definitely the best way to start off the month! And don’t despair, I already have many tickets booked for 2026 (including January, so my 2026 will start off the correct way!) As I always say, if a night out dancing away to some classic R&B songs, then head to the website and check to see if they are performing in a venue near you and grab yourself some tickets!

December would not be complete without a trip to one of our local garden centres. We can’t seem to go into a garden centre and not buy things, especially things for Bertie – we always seem to come out with a little present or two for him. And the inner child in me had to have a picture in the lit up tree, become an elf and get into the Santa bauble (I nearly broke my back getting in that). For a more in depth insight into our garden centre outing, check out my YouTube channel where you will find a vlog of our outing.
Just because it was Christmas didn’t mean the work stopped. I worked up until 19th December, and I am pleased to say that in that time I managed to capture a beautiful sunset, and with the help of my furry assistant, finish writing up to chapter 16 – which is two chapters off half way! I am so pleased with how far ahead of schedule I am currently and I’m certainly hoping to keep that up during January! I ended my working days with a celebratory chai latte!!
Soon the main events arrived, starting with Christmas Eve! We decided to head out for lunch, which is something we don’t normally do, but it was delicious. We all had tomato soup for starters and I then had a small fish and chips which was sooo good!! It is tradition in our household to have a photo of us in our matching pjs, which are from Chelsea Peers, that we always wear on Christmas Eve (and yes Bertie also has them, not that he is too thrilled about wearing them). You will also notice that on Christmas Day we dressed Bertie up as a Christmas tree. I can confirm that Bertie was very warm and cosy and slept in it for the whole day – typical Bertie. I didn’t get much of our Christmas dinner, but I did manage to snap a picture of our prawn cocktail, which was delicious and I have requested that we make that a tradition whenever we have a roast dinner in 2026. Our Christmas Day was quiet and lovely. Thank you to everyone for my gifts, I am incredibly grateful for them all. Onto Boxing Day, Mum provided us with a lovely buffet to snack on and we spent the day in front of the TV – my perfect day really!
I also got to have a late Christmas catch up with my friend from university. We spent the day chatting about our plans for the next year and playing games (which incase you are curious, Mum won once and so did I).
I couldn’t end 2025 without sharing extra little snippets of how Bertie spent his December, featuring a little snippet of Archie. Spoilers: A lot of Bertie’s December was spent curled up either on someone’s lap or on a blanket sleeping – so pretty much how he spent the rest of the year.
And that’s it! 2025 over and out!! If these monthly blog posts aren’t enough for you, then you can check out my YouTube channel and follow along with my regular vlogs about what I get up to each week, or you can check out my TikTok or Instagram (where I am determined this year to share more content on these!). But all that’s left for me to say is I hope you had a lovely Christmas or a festive week for those who don’t celebrate Christmas. From my family to yours, I wish you all a Happy New Year! I hope it is the best year yet for you all 🫶🏻
Comments Conversation: What is your favourite part of the Christmas dinner if you have one? Mine would have to be the pigs in blankets – one year Mum actually forgot the pigs in blankets as we were tucking in, they quickly went into the oven after a quick realisation. And what do you think about sprouts on a Christmas dinner? Do you like them? I personally don’t mind them!
Until 2026!
See you soon!
