January 2026

January 2026:

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I’m excited to 2026 – new year, new memories, and hopefully new opportunities and achievements.

The only downside is that January is always the longest month, to say it only has 31 days in it, January feels like a year on its own to me – does anyone else feel the same? But despite being so long, January still had some events to look forward to.

I always start off the year with a new vision board, I can’t guarantee from my own experience that this works but I have heard from others it has so I’m trying it again this year.

Something else I always find about January is that the weather is usually very cold, which this year was definitely no exception, but we did get the surprise of snow! Instead of a white Christmas we got a white new year! I’m not sure Bertie was as thrilled about the snow as I was, think of his little cold paws! 🐾

One of my goals for this year was to start reading more. Reading will always be one of the tools that will help to improve my writing, and I have always been awful at keeping up with reading books. So this month alone, I have read three books and have already started a fourth. I set myself a reading goal on GoodReads to read 24 books this year, I am determined to complete it and get higher if possible. But here are the books I have read this year so far.

Talking of books, I achieved an exciting milestone this month… I completed the first full manuscript of my fourth book!! I had set myself a schedule for completing book four so that I had a timeline to work from in regards to release date and obtaining copies ready for pre-orders etc, and I had it planned that I would have written the first draft by the end of March (28th to be exact). I finished writing the first manuscript 21st January – so it’s fair to say I am definitely ahead of schedule and planning on keeping it that way. My next step is to start typing it up (which I have already typed up to chapter fourteen) and then Mum and I will be spending some time editing (I hope you’re ready Mum?) Make sure to keep your eyes peeled on my socials as I will soon be sharing more information about the upcoming release of my next book 👀

I made it my goal to try and finish my first draft by 23rd January as I was out for the evening… I don’t think this will come as a surprise to you when I say I was out at The Drifters for the evening! As you will know from my last blog post I spoke about it felt like such a long wait between our concert in December and the following one in January (and I was right, it has been so long!) But it was well worth the wait and was an incredible night. But now I have to wait until March for the next two (good thing we have lots of work to do with the book to keep my occupied!) As I always say, check out their website and grab yourself some tickets if they are touring in a theatre near you! I have linked the website here

Oh and if you wondered how Bertie was, he spent most of January sleeping… it’s very clear what his New Year’s resolution was.

If these monthly blogs aren’t enough for you and you want more of an insight into my work weeks and my life in general, check out my vlogs which you’ll find a link to here!

Comment Conversation: Do you have any New Years resolutions? And if so what are they? How are you going back keeping track of them? I have written a small checklist alongside my vision board to remind me of what I wanted to achieve this year to keep myself accountable.

Until next time!

See you soon!

TTFN – Love Hannah ❤️
