February 2026

February 2026:

Moving on from the longest month in the year – seriously why does January feel like it has a complete year of its own?! We finally reached February!

February for me wasn’t a very jam-packed month, I didn’t have a lot of dates in the diary but that doesn’t mean I wasn’t getting a lot of stuff done! February was mainly spent continuing to work on my fourth book. I spent the first part of the month finishing off typing up the manuscript and the other half of the month we began the editing stage. I am surprised at how quickly the book seems to be coming together, it amazes me how much I have managed to achieve in the approximate six months I have been working on this book. I also announced this month that my fourth book ‘Deadly Greetings’ will be released 7th July 2026!! And make sure you keep your eyes peeled for the book trailer which I will be sharing very soon!! 👀 (I do have a few behind the scenes snippets from when I created the trailer but sharing them now before the book trailer has been released is unheard of, so you can look forward to seeing them in March’s blog post and on my TikTok where I filmed parts of me creating the trailer too!) But I can share with you the few pictures I captured during the typing and editing process so far – including Bertie and his fascination over a Jammie Dodger biscuit.

Talking of Berite moves me perfectly onto the small snapshots I managed to capture of Bertie during February. Spoiler alert: it will come as no surprise to you to discover a lot of the pictures are of Bertie sleeping (because when is Bertie not sleeping?)

I only started one new book this month which was ‘And then there were none’ by Agatha Christie. I was already aware of the plot for this novel as I went to see a theatrical performance of this in Nottingham the other year and I thoroughly enjoyed it. However, I would be lying if I didn’t admit that this book did freak me out. There were one or two nights where I would go to sleep slightly unsettled and then continue to wake up on and off during the night because I felt I was being watched (but maybe that’s just me and my weird imagination!) But overall, I thought this was a great book. Not a very long book so is a very easy read – unless you’re like me and had to leave it a while before I picked it up again because it unnerved me (which I find hilarious for someone who writes murder mystery novels!)

Talking of books, this year marks the first year anniversary since I released my second book ‘Roses are red, Murder is too’! Where has the year gone?! So a little marketing plug – if you haven’t already checked out my books (Um… rude, what are you doing?) head to the link here and if they sound like something you might be into grab your copies now – remember book four will be coming out soon! 👀

The only other excitement I had during February (but I’m not sure you can call this excitement) was when the sun finally decided to show its face after a gruelling long winter and I decided it would be a “genius” idea to have a go at cleaning our garden slabs. Now before anyone says it, I would have used a pressure washer… if I had one. Instead I had to use what I could find – a hard bristled brush a bucket of soapy water… and yours truly! Now I have to say, I am very impressed with myself because they actually turned out pretty well! (And yes I have provided the evidence for you, and no I will not be making this a new business idea). I would be lying if I said I wasn’t in agony for the following two days because I most certainly was. But I have discovered that if I fancy taking up a new hobby in the future, watch this space because you might see me on your TV screens competing for GB in the next Winter Olympics as part of the curling team!

But that was about it for the month of February – short and sweet, very much like the month itself. Although why does this February feel like another long month (Is the year 2026 going to be the longest year ever, because it certainly feels like it will be at the moment!)

I apologise that this blog post was written and published slightly later! It has been quite hectic and I have lost all track of days at the moment (has anyone else been feeling like this too?

Comment Conversation: How did you spend your Valentine’s Day? I spent mine doing the weekly food shop (although Mum and I did get each other and Bertie a card and Mum treated me to some flowers) and I spent the afternoon creating the book trailer!

Until next time!

See you soon!
