I think it’s only fair to give you a small introduction and look into the life behind the pen and paper (or laptop screen nowadays!)

So writing was never my big dream when I was younger, I actually didn’t know what I wanted to do growing up. So I studied childcare at college which led me to studying primary teaching at uni with the hope for becoming a primary school teacher. However, still with no job months after graduating and Christmas only round the corner, I chose a retail job to help out my draining purse – and that is where I still am today!

However October 2022, a couple of weeks before starting my new job in retail, I watched a theatre performance of Agatha Christie’s ‘The Mirror Crack’d from Side To Side’ starring Susie Blake as the quick witted Miss Marple (this is my petition to get Susie Blake to play the next Miss Marple on screen if the films ever get re-made!) This performance was my introduction into the world of novel writing as I began wondering what my own murder mystery novel would be about.

And just like that 💥BOOM!💥 my first novel ‘Academy Assassination’ was created and published February 2024 – and I won’t be stopping there! x

So what’s next?

Of course no one knows what the future holds – which at the minute seems to be changing by the second! But for now this is what I plan to work on…

Now I have managed to publish my first book, I am hoping to bring out more (the second one is being written as I am writing this – 6th May 2024!) I hope that as I continue to write I will be able to improve my writing and editing skills all the while learning new skills such as creating my own covers and taking more of a proactive role in managing my own marketing – wish me luck! – all the while allowing my creatives juices to flow with more ideas for future novels!

And of course doing all this whilst caring for my Mum, still working and making the most that life has to offer (very philosophical I know!) x
