Festive Foul Play

Wishing you a merry Christmas filled with love, merriment and murder…

Frances imagined her Christmas would be another year full of stacking seasonal stock and dealing with customers full of humbug. She wasn’t expecting Jonathan to surprise her with a festive trip around the cosy Christmas market.

What better way for a group of friends to bond than their traditional outing to the very same Christmas market.

No one would expect these two different groups to collide. Especially not when one of the friends dies unexpectedly at the market; with Jonathan and Barry dealing with the case. But it seems that Barry requires a little help from his trusted amateur sleuth – Frances Garnham.

Despite the season, Frances discovers that this case is not filled with festive cheer, but deceit, lies and hidden secrets. As the murdering continues, will Frances, with the help of her police companions, be able to uncover the truth behind the festive foul play?

What can I say about book three. It took me straight into the story, I felt like I was literally going round the Christmas market with all the characters. That is the beauty of Hannah's book, she makes you feel as though you are there. There is enough description of things without it becoming too much and the conversations in the book flow easily and don't feel forced. The story kept me engaged and I couldn't wait to get to the end to see if I was correct with the outcome. Overall, a very well written book and I cannot wait to read book four. Well done Hannah - keep on doing what you do best, as I couldn't write one book let alone four.

I have just finished Hannah's third book and I am very pleased to say that you got the feeling of a Christmas market straight away, Hannah detailed the scene very well. The book gave you enough information on all the people who are in the book. The author has grown in confidence with each book she has written. I really enjoyed this book as I have been to many Christmas markets and the author nailed the atmosphere of the scenes very good. This is the third book I have read written by Hannah and I am pleased to say every one of them has been a pleasure and enjoyment. I highly recommend all three books to everybody who enjoys a murder mystery or anyone who likes to read good books. It is really lovely to support new authors. You will not be disappointed with these three books.

So this is the third book in this series and is, so far, the best. The characters are well developed and relatable, the scene setting is really good and the dialogue is excellent. This story kept me guessing right up to the reveal, all you could ask for in a murder mystery. The writing is becoming more confident with every publication. Congratulations Hannah, looking forward to the next book.
